Dr. Melinda Wiggins, DAOM, LAc, CMT
Melinda Wiggins is a 2009 graduate of Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College-Berkeley and bodyworker of more than 15 years, owning her own acupuncture business in Berkeley since 2010. Extensive experience performing acupuncture in Guatemala at Hospitalito de Santiago; working with pre and post-surgical patients at Advanced Physical Medicine as a licensed acupuncturist; interning with Josh Margolis, L.Ac, DAC, DOMTP in Acupuncture as well as manual therapy; interning extensively under anesthesiologist Dr. Jordan Brand at SF VA Medical center witnessing over 25 surgeries; and currently studying extensive combinations of both herbal medicine and allopathic drugs with mentors Dr. John Chen and Dr. Kyle Miura; have all contributed to her knowledge and understanding.
Growing up 3rd of 12 children (and currently 18 nieces & nephews!) in the North Carolina Smokey Mountains, Melinda learned much of local herbs and gardening, as well learning to love & understand many different personalities. Although her background is in Acupuncture & Chinese medicine herbal medicine, she recently completed a Post Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program at UC Berkeley Extension to integrate and more fully understand the allopathic perspective of medicine, and how it, nutrition, exercise, and Chinese medicine may complement one another.
